Bio
Born in California and raised in Oregon, Gerri attended
Meckelberg School Of Design in Portland, Oregon. She was a fiber artist in design stitchery in her earlier years. She has
exhibited her work in the Bay Area, San Francisco, La Cienega’s Gallery Row in Los Angeles and has exhibited Caterpillar
Jewelry at the renowned Topanga Faire for many years. Resident of Westwood for over 28 years, she has become a member of the
California Arts Council, the Lassen County Arts Council, Feather River Fine Art Association and Plumas Arts. Gerri was responsible
for creating the first Lassen County Artist Directory. Caterpillar Jewelry is an invention she calls her own, conceptually created
in 1989 and perfected in 1995. Its method of construction is described as steel hooked on linen thread, using imported glass
beads. Gerri markets her work throughout California. In 1999 Gerri invented what is described as “Lace and Glass Fringes for Lampshades".
The Caterpillar Luminaires are an original conception and creation of beadwork using imported glass beads created
out of hand-worked, steel-hooked lace thread. No two Luminaires are ever alike.
