Joe Gilmour

Joe was born in Redwood City California on March 13th 1967 to Peter and Suzanne Gilmour. Joe is a self-taught painter who enjoys working in acrylic and paint pen. Joe has always had an interest in art, when he was two years old he got into his dads oil paints and created his own Jackson Pollock masterpiece. Joe’s grandfather, Ernest Goveia was an award-winning painter. Joe has fond memories of sitting in his grandfather’s studio late into the night painting and drawing along side him. Joe has also been blessed with a very creative and loving mother. He has sat at many arts and craft shows with his mom and grandfather. Art and the creative spirit has surrounded him all of his life.

Joe has spent many years in the Chester area and has relatives living in town. His uncle, David Bradley is a teacher at Chester High School and his aunt, Marsha Bradley works at the elementary school in Chester. Joe grew up with three sisters, which definitely gave him a sense of humor that he hopes shows in his paintings. Joe has four children Destiny 23, Joseph Jr. 18, Taylor 17 and Noah 10. Joe lives and paints in Livermore California with his love Carrie.
