Once again, the Lake Almanor Community Foundation chose the Wildwood conference center as the site for the Art Around the Lake silent and live auction. All the proceeds from the auction
are donated to the music and arts programs in local schools. The Foundation is proud to have donated more than $35,000
to the schools in the Almanor Basin. The auction and the day of open studios are a lot of work for volunteers and artists
alike, but it's also so much fun! We hope that you enjoy it as much as we do, and are happy to know that you are
helping to provide the exposure to the arts that every child needs and deserves.
Professional auctioneer Wesley Neer raised the level of interest and fun in the live auction. Wes is shown here
offering the fabulous basket donated by a great friend of the arts, Lynne Kelleher. Another great friend of the
arts, Barbara MacArthur is helping Wes make the sale.
Jack Soderholm is shown with the cedar-strip row
boat he generously donated to the auction. Jack inherited a love of creating things from his grandfather, who was a
master builder, and helped build many of the churches that are still standing in Chicago. Jack spent at least 150 hours and $1,000 in materials to build the boat.
