I’ve been lucky enough to live most of my life in the mountains of Northern California.
Many of my paintings are about our part of the state….. Plumas County, Lassen Park, the Chico area, the north coast.
Since my “day job” is building design, I often include architectural elements in my compositions. I am also interested
in up close views of the world…so I’ve done a series of fruit and vegetable “portraits” , and paintings
of small items such as silver pieces, old toys, and flowers, pets, etc. I also do people….children’s faces….figure
drawings. After many years of working in oils, fiber, pen and ink, and gouache, I have recently started painting with watercolors.
This medium seems to be perfect for what I’m trying to express. I have illustrated two books on the area….”Plumas
Sketches”, (written by Jane Braxton-Little) and “A is for Almanor”, a children’s ABC book. I studied
Art at the Art Institute of Chicago and UCLA and finished my BA in art at Chico State University. You can see my work at Plumas
Arts Gallery in Quincy and Booklore in Greenville, B&B Gallery in Chester.
