Karin Urquhart, a resident of Lake Almanor and Marin County California, is an artist specializing in oil and watercolor.
She is featured in the Backroom Gallery at B&B Booksellers in Chester; Northwoods Gallery in Chester: Plumas Arts Gallery
in Quincy: Plumas County Museum in Quincy; Gallery One in Petaluma; at the Lassen County Arts Council Gallery in Susanville
and the Marin Society of Artists Gallery in Ross. Additionally she has been featured at the Marin Arts Council Gallery in
San Rafael and the Marin County Board of Supervisors Gallery at the Marin County Civic Center. She is a member of the
Marin
Society of Artists where several of her paintings have been displayed and sold in juried exhibitions. She is also a member
of the
Marin Arts Council and the
Feather River Fine Arts Association at Lake Almanor. In addition, her
works reside in many private collections.
An hiatus from her painting occurred during a distinguished career of public service in the field of environmental
conservation for which she has received many honors including induction into the Marin Women's Hall of Fame,
the American Association of University Women's "Woman of Achievement Award" and inclusion in the Marquis "Who's
Who in America" and "Who's Who in American Women" since the year 2000.
Now retired, Karin has returned to a life long love of painting. She especially enjoys painting scenery and turn of the
century buildings in and around the Almanor Basin, an area which she and her family have been enjoying since the mid 1970's.
In her business, Expressions by Karin, her many series of note cards of original oils and watercolors are enjoying
widespread popularity.
