About Us

Lake Almanor Community Foundation

Lake Almanor Community Foundation, a 501(c)3 corporation, was formed in 2002 to provide an entity that would promote culture activities and raise funds for community services in the Lake Almanor Basin.  In addition to Art Around the Lake, the Foundation also sponsors the summer music program at the Lake Almanor Country Club Bandshell.  The Foundation has partnered with the Almanor Basin Community Supper.  In addition, the Foundation cooperates with A Few Brews and a Banjo, proceeds from which are donated to Chester schools music programs.

Contributions made to LACF are tax-deductible. It is governed by a board of directors, whose members are:

A Better Design Screenprinting & Embroidery

A Better Design offers screenprinting and embroidery for businesses, organizations and local events.  They also have a retail storefront specializing in women's apparel and accessories.
 
Dawnette Dryer, owner, designed and built both the web page and the brochure for the 2008, 2009 & 2010 Art Around the Lake event.

MSA Fine Jewelry and Home Decor

Through promoting cultural activities in our community, we hope to encourage philanthropic contributions to our foundation. We want to provide opportunities for members of our community to enjoy cultural activities, displays of visual arts and visits from performing artists. We want to make available more opportunities for our local school children to learn about art and music.

In 2004 we were able to contribute $4200 to replace the lighting in the emergency room at Seneca Hospital.

In 2005 and 2006 we contributed to the Music and Arts Programs at the Chester schools.

In 2007 and 2008, we were able to contribute $4500 each year to the music and arts programs in Westwood, Chester and Greenville schools.

In 2009, the Art Around the Lake event brought the total donated to local schools to $35,000.
