Mesothelioma is the most threatening disease in the world today. There are many factors to consider which makes dreadful disease for a common man and also grave challenge to the medical community. The main factor is that symptoms of this disease are not at all specific. Symptoms Mesothelioma are similar to that of some other well known diseases. So even if the patient experiencing some symptoms by suffering form Mesothelioma a specialist might not able to diagnose the disease. The other factor which makes Mesothelioma more dreadful is due to asbestos dust particles which remain inside the humans for 30-40 years of age. After such a long period the asbestos fibers then begins interfering with the functioning of mesothelial cells which may leads to formation of cancerous cells.

Still no permanent cure was found for this Mesothelioma cancer. The best thing that medical doctors can only do is, to make the patient remaining life more pain free. As of now few treatment options are available which holds promise for future. But none of the methods have proved permanent cure for this cancer. The traditional methods which are useful in treating other types of cancer have not proved successful in dealing with Mesothelioma. Only the combination of treatment options such as chemotherapy, radiation and surgery are helpful in making the patients’ life more pain free and comfortable. Doctors even advice patients to follow some other treatment options such as ayurveda, aroma therapy and also herbal therapy along with the conventional treatment options.

I am inspired by Abigail Trafford, author of My Time: Making the Most of the Bonus Decades After Fifty, who is leading boomers on a pioneering journey to leave a new legacy for future generations. By adding her insight to my experience as a retirement lifestyle strategies coach, I want to encourage you to be a trail blazer in your retirement years instead of simply resting on your laurels or retiring from an active, purposeful lifestyle.

Movers And Shakers Once Again

We are in the middle of a social revolution we might want to call the anti-aging movement. We are getting older visually but we bring much wisdom within our generation as we pave the way for this next life transition-retirement. We were fortunate: we grew up with the invention of the TV, fought for civil rights and equality for women in the work place, took pride in the Hippie movement, changed the music landscape with Rock and Roll, landed a man on the moon and accomplished much more. We had the courage to fight in the Vietnam War when it wasn’t a popular war. Because there are so many postwar babies born, our numbers influenced a cultural power that created an incredible force in our society. We did not shy away from a cause, an injustice, a challenge or an indulgence.

As we move into middle age, we are now paving the way for a new retirement legacy. However, because we are so driven towards change yet may not know quite how to do this one, we may be struggling with our new identity. You could say that we are experiencing similar identity and intimacy issues that we transitioned through as teenagers-who am I? Who are my friends? What is my role in my family now? What career do I want to pursue?

Now that all of our tasks are completed-getting married, raising our children, climbing the career ladder-we meet ourselves on the other side of these transitions. Who am I without work, without a cause, without a purpose? Who do I want in my inner circle? How strong is my marriage? How have I nurtured my friendships? What do I want to do with the rest of my life, especially when there will be 20 to 30 more years of our lives than we had planned for? We are destined for some path, but what is that path?

Longevity = Loss, Liberation, Legacy, Love

As we move into our 50s and 60s, we are experiencing loss as we let go of a lot of responsibilities, freeing us up to create a life filled with dreams that have gone unfulfilled temporarily while we move through earlier life stages. Now we are liberated and free to explore a different kind of success mindset. How will this life stage that you are about to enter create the kind of legacy that you want for your children and your grandchildren? Relationships become much more important in our lives as we consider those that we love and care for. Marriages go through major stress points and change over the years. “Until death do us part” has extended to much longer periods of time than anyone ever anticipated. In some situations, that’s a wonderful thing, and relationships thrive and get even better. In others, fragile relationships dissolve. Love and romance for people who become single in this phase of their lives is once again possible.

Pioneering Steps Towards A Successful Revolution

Ms. Trafford highlights 10 steps to consider as we all transition to this new life stage we are still trying to define. I hope these will start great discussions for you, your friends, and your family.

Change the language from retire to regenerate; the word senior to older adult; volunteering to legacy work. Each change in the language suggests more energy and vitality.

Get an attitude. Allow yourself more boldness and sense of urgency. For example: if not now, when will you go after what you really want to do? Show your children a new model so they can say they hope they will accomplish as much as their parents have.

Make sure you plan beyond the money. Having enough money to be comfortable and maintain a reasonable lifestyle is important, but make sure that you weave in purpose and meaning so that each day you have something to get up for.

Get educated! Our kids have had wonderful educational opportunities, and we should do the same for ourselves as we enter this life stage. Educate yourself by learning more about midlife transitions through community programs and online educational opportunities.

Redefine and reframe the workplace. We don’t have to be wedded to a 40-hour week. Job sharing, part-time work, and extending one’s work in order to mentor new generations coming on board are all ways that we can contribute our talents and skills.

Craft your legacy. Pass on life experiences, talents and interests, the business that you built, and the cause that you believe in along with the values that you have lived by.

Redefine the family. There are long-term marriages with and without children; divorces and remarriages that expand the family by including more relatives; those single and married creating families of choice; villages of intergenerational members who are caring for each other as they all age from birth to death. Intergenerational relationships make for a great contribution to our legacy.

Guard your health and spirit. Be aware of ageism. Don’t let that stop you from doing what you really want to do. Take care of your body, because it is the only one that you have. Nurture it, move it and get the medical check-ups and treatment your body requires.

Love well. Giving and receiving love is vital to a fulfilling life. People are meant to be in connection with others. It’s important to have 8 to 10 people in your life that you can’t imagine your life without. If your support system falls below three people, you are at more risk of poor health, emotional isolation and depression.

Put longevity into the political arena! We need a longevity agenda. Change is occurring all around us. Because we are living longer, there are now well over 80 million people between the ages of 50 and 80 in our nation. These numbers will drive change culturally, politically, scientifically and economically.

Medical bills can pile up so quickly that it is quite frightening. Anyone who has ever had an overnight hospital stay or had even a minor a surgery performed can attest to the staggering price of medical treatment these days. It seems that even a quick trip to the emergency room for stitches or a cautionary check-up can cost a ridiculous amount of money. Luckily for all of us, there are ways to reduce medical bills, and they aren’t that difficult to do.

The best way to reduce medical debt is to just talk to your medical service providers. You may be surprised at how willing they are to work with you, particularly if you simply can’t afford to pay what they are asking from you. At the end of the day, hospitals and doctors just want to get paid, and if they think that reducing your bill will ensure that they don’t get stiffed, they will do so.

Another method is to hire someone to see if your medical bill can be negotiated. This is one of the ways to reduce medical bills that are likely to work, but will cost you some money in the process, as the negotiator will obviously need to get paid for his or her effort. Still, this strategy will have a high success rate, as these folks know what they’re doing and can get you a good deal.

Finally, one of the best ways to reduce medical bills is to control the amount of bills that you rack up in the first place. By avoiding unnecessary trips to the doctor or asking whether all recommended treatment options are absolutely necessary, you may be able to save some money. Also, it’s advisable to shop around for the best health insurance opportunities, particularly if you pay for your own insurance and may be able to find a better deal.

The key to finding ways to reduce medical bills is to be resilient and try to do whatever you can. While medical bills can make you want to enter the witness protection program or fall off the face of the earth, there are definitely ways to relieve some of their burden upon you.

Have you ever had one of those Fridays?

* You’re perusing one of the clothing magazines and discover the PERFECT sweater. You check your bank account – no, there’s not enough money for a “frivolous” purchase.

* Your father, for whom you are the primary caregiver and who seldom eats well, wakes up with a craving for bacon and you remember that you used the last 2 pieces in the spinach salad you made yesterday.

* Your sister calls and says that her child is ill so she won’t be able to stay with Dad for the week-end after all, “but really, I’m sure he’ll be fine by himself”. That puts an end to your week-end get-away with your husband.

*Your neighbor calls and says “something” has just dug up her prize roses…and your dog seems to be eerily absent.

* You hear a gurgling sound coming from the bathroom and discover that Dad has flushed down a Depends (once again) thus clogging up the plumbing. (Obviously he WON’T be fine by himself!)

* You call the plumber, who doesn’t answer! HE must have taken Friday off to go fishing because HE doesn’t have a family member to care for!

What do you do when everything around you seems to be conspiring against you?

1. Stop and count to 10…slowly.

Concentrating on counting will help you to regain your composure long enough so that you don’t do or say something you’ll later regret.

2. Breathe.

Go to a quiet place. Take a deep breath in through your nose; hold it for the count of 3 and then breathe out slowly through pursed lips to the count of 10. Repeat this at least 5 times or until your heart stops racing and a feeling of calm returns.

3. Re-evaluate.

Is there another plumber that you could call (preferably one that doesn’t charge week-end rates on a Friday)? Is there a family friend that does plumbing on the side?

If you can’t get away for the week-end, is there someone you could call who could stay with your loved-one for just the evening so that you and hubby could catch a movie?

Is there some part of the day that you can save? (I don’t know what to tell you about the roses.)

4. Dance.

Turn on the stereo or iPod and dance around the kitchen. Dance with Dad. Dance with the dog (who has now returned). Remember that song “Maniac” from the movie “Flashdance”? Turn on that song and move your feet as fast as they’ll go. It’s an instant mood changer. I watched it on YouTube the other day. (Wow, I forgot how high those leotards used to be in the 80s!)

5. Get out of the house.

Depending upon your circumstances, you could load up your loved one and go for a drive in a pretty area, get some frozen yogurt or a latte’, or even just go out into the garden and pull weeds. The fresh air will be good for both of you and you’ll return in a much better frame of mind.

6. Be grateful.

Yes, I know… I’m working on this myself. Grab a piece of paper and write down all the things for which you are grateful. Sometimes, it might only be that you managed to get out of bed this morning. But that’s a start.

I can’t promise you that tomorrow will be better; I can’t advise you to make lemonade out of lemons, because sometimes, the lemons are just too sour. The only thing that I can tell you is that one day your caregiving role will end, so you must do the best you can do in order to ensure that your memories of caregiving will be good ones.

Being homeless is no laughing matter, especially if you are old, totally broke, and the worse thing is, 5 years ago you had a great home, a good paying job, and a decent income that allowed you to enjoy some of the finer things in life. Your biggest mistake was not preparing your retirement planning checklist. So let’s go 5 years back and prevent a situation like these from ever happening to you.

You’ve got five years to go before you retire. It’s time for you to finally get out your retirement planning checklist and prepare for your future as a senior citizen. First you have to think and decide what you will be doing then. Will you be staying in your home you are in now or will you be moving to another place? Will you be constantly traveling? This is essential information as the data you compile from these decisions will help determine if your retirement savings are enough along with other possible sources of funds, like your pension or social security.

For the next two years you will be taking care of a number of details like the necessary papers and other requirements which you will need when you apply for your benefits. The agencies and offices that you need to go to are the Social Security, Medicare, and other private and personal entities that you may have retirement benefits to claim. You should also start clearing and straightening your investment portfolio. Know what your options will be when you retire.

Three years to one year before you retire, make your finalization on your finances. Your retirement planning checklist should include a complete list of assets and debts. Know your obligations and clear them before retiring. This will allow you to determine with finality if you are indeed financially capable of retiring. Look at the areas where you can cut down on your expenses. If your company offers a health plan, see if you can have an executive medical checkup. This will allow you to plan for any medical conditions which may not be covered by your medical insurance when you retire.

Now it’s one year and counting. Only a mere 12 months away from your retirement, as you have already straightened out all your financial affairs and your other legal obligations and paperwork, you will need to review your retirement planning checklist for the last time to be certain they are indeed in order. Then you should now start preparing yourself. It’s difficult to retire after getting into a habit for the past 30 to 40 years of working. Gradually condition your mind and body for retirement. Plan some activities for you to do when you have all the time in the world.

Having health insurance options for pets is a relatively new trend. Perhaps ten years ago, people would have laughed if you told them you bought pet insurance, but today, it’s big business. As a pet owner, you probably know how expensive a visit to the vet can be. If you’re lucky, you will never have to do anything more than get Rusty a check-up and his regular shots. But most likely, Rusty has had some more serious health problems. Genetic and physical disorders can be a costly issue.

What Does Pet Insurance Provide?
It’s not so different from human health insurance. Pet insurance companies generally offer different plans. They have deductibles, premiums, copays, limits, and exclusions. The offerings are highly variable, as with human insurance, so if you are considering purchasing, be sure to shop around. Understand what the risks are for Rusty, especially if he is a pure breed. Know what he is genetically predisposed to and read policies very carefully before purchasing so that you know what will be excluded.

What are the Pros of Buying Pet Insurance?
According to U.S. News and World Report, Americans spent $9.4 billion on pet health needs in 2006 and the costs are rising. With the increasing costs, the number of insurance policies is also rising. But is it worth it? There are some benefits to buying a policy for your best friend.

While buying insurance for anything involves some risk, what is certain is that any health problems that Rusty may suffer from beyond the ordinary preventative measures will be expensive. Just diagnosing an illness, with for example an MRI scan, can cost up to $5,000. Getting stuck with a bill like this, not to mention the cost of treatment for his ailment can be devastating. Many dog and cat owners have faced the horrible decision of whether or not they can afford to treat their pet. With insurance, you would not have to face that overwhelming choice.

Probably the biggest benefit to owning a pet insurance policy, besides possible saving money, is having peace of mind. If you have ever thought about whether or not you could afford to care for Rusty if he developed cancer or were hit by a car, you may be a candidate for insurance. It could ease your mind knowing you don’t have to choose between Rusty’s life and well-being and having money in the bank.

What are the Cons of Buying Pet Insurance?
The biggest con when it comes to purchasing insurance for Rusty is that it may end up costing you more than it saves you. Perhaps more than with other insurance types, pet insurance is risky. There is a good chance that you will never need it or that you will need it once or twice for minor occurrences. Premiums for pet insurance can cost between $2,000 and $5,000 over the average pet’s lifespan and deductibles can be up to $100 per occurrence. If you are going to buy a policy, you need to be comfortable with the fact that that chunk of money may end up being a loss. For mixed-breed dogs especially, pet insurance often represents a loss to the owner because they tend to be far healthier than pure breeds.

According to Consumer Affairs*, it’s estimated that 7,000 deaths occur every year due to incorrect prescriptions. They are astounding statistics. Company, I’ve caught a pharmacist creating a very big mistake. Our son Nick was supposed to get 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of a medication, and also the label said to give him 1 ml. That’s 5 times under he was supposed to get! I’d remembered exactly what the doctor had prescribed, checked out the little tiny bottle which was given to me and wondered generate an income was supposed to get 30 teaspoons out of this thing. That’s when I noticed the mistake.

I’m no stranger to having to administer lots of medications. Our son Nick has been on prescription medications since birth, and that he were built with a kidney transplant on August 15, 2000. Since that time, I have been responsible for administering those life saving meds. There isn’t much more stressful than knowing that you just cannot forget a medication, or administer the incorrect amount. I’m able to nearly get it done with my eyes closed now. But when I first started I had no clue what questions I ought to be asking, what supplies I should have on hand, or how to stay organized and so i didn’t make a mistake.

Over the past 14 years, I’ve seen mistakes made, and I’ve designed a few myself. This information is about what I’ve learned along the way. It is not to become construed as medical advice, but instead personal opinion. Please check with your personal doctor and pharmacist to make sure you are doing everything that you need to do in order to avoid medication mistakes.

Beginning in the Doctors Office

It all starts here. There are several questions that you ought to be prepared to answer, and several questions that you ought to be prepared to ask. Every single one of these is extremely important. Keep a journal. Bring it along with you to all doctor appointments.

Questions You will have to Answer

Patient’s health background: It’s wise to help keep a journal of the patient’s health background. This will include current and past illnesses and/or health conditions, surgeries, current and past medications, any allergies to food or medications. When visiting the doctor, a nurse will ask several questions that can help a doctor. Having a journal will ensure that you don’t leave anything out.

Family health background: It’s also very important you know regarding your family health background. I recognize that sometimes adoption is involved and it’s not possible. But whenever it is possible, obtain the family medical history for both sides from the family (maternal and paternal). So if you’re bringing your son or daughter to the doctor, you want to know both the history on your side of the family as well as your child’s father/mother side from the family.

Listing of current medications: When you go to the doctor, you will be requested a list of current medications, including the dose. It’s much easier to bring a list along with you and just hand it over to the nurse using the information than it is to try to remember everything right there at that moment. I like to use index cards designed in pencil. He cards hold up well, you are able to erase pencil, and you will keep your card with the medications when you’re not utilizing it in the doctor’s office.

Consider the medication bottle(s) and write down the name of the medication, just how much (volume) you are administering and just how many mg. per unit. By doing this the doctor knows the exact amount that is being taken. For instance, if a prescription has 1 mg per ml, and you’re simply administering 5 ml, a doctor knows the patient is getting 5 mg.

Questions to Ask a doctor. Jot down Exactly what the Doctor Says!

When prescribed a brand new medication, there are many things you will need to know. You will want to check what the doctor says to you against exactly what the bottle of medication says when you pick it up at the pharmacy.

While speaking with a doctor about having a new prescription filled, write down the name, the volume to be administered, and total mg’s per dose that will be administered: The bottle will most likely say something like 1mg/cc. If you are new to this, or you’re not good at math, ask the doctor exactly what the bottle that you will be getting should say. For example, if Nick gets 5 mg of Prednisolone every second day, and there’s 1 mg. per ml, he then ought to be getting 5 ml’s of the medication for any total of 5 mg. every second day.

1 mg./ml X 5 ml = 5 mg.

Brand name vs. generic name: If a prescription does not say ‘no substitutions’ you will most likely receive the generic version of this drug. Ask a doctor what that name would be.

What’s this medication going to treat: It may seem obvious, but if you’re coping with more than one medication, you wouldn’t want mistake one that treats high blood pressure with one which treats a headach. One which you have to take every day with one which you are taking only when needed.

How long does it take for the medication to consider effect: It might just take minutes for it to begin working, or it may be considerably longer than that. It is good to understand the solution to this question. Especially if it will take a few weeks to operate!

Food, drink, herbal and drug interactions: Drinking Alcohol is definitely an obvious substance that could connect to drugs. But are you aware that grapefruit, chocolate and licorice are common too? Herbal medicines can connect to prescriptions, over the counter medications, and also the list goes on. Let both the doctor and pharmacist know what meds (prescription and also over the counter) and herbal supplements are now being taken. Ask what should not be taken with the prescription, including foods and beverages.

Also keep in mind, prior to going to buy an over the counter (OTC) medication or supplement for someone on the prescription, ask the pharmacist in the event that OTC item is okay to take using the meds the person is already on (both prescribed and OTC)! It is easy to forget to do this, especially this time of the year when individuals catch a cold or get sick and you’re in a hurry to obtain back home. While you may have been given a list of what really should not be taken using the med already, you need to still ask. The Pharmacist may be the drug specialist. It’s the things they’re doing the whole day. Just give the pharmacy a phone call even before you bother going to the store. Inform them what’s happening and ask them for tips about what you need to buy. That is what they’re there for!

Ask about negative effects: You cannot turn on the television for too long without seeing a commercial for many new medication which has emerge. And then they quickly list the usually large list of possible side effects. It’s important to ask both doctor and pharmacist what they’re for each medication. Sometimes even more drugs are prescribed to counter the results of meds. Lovely, huh? Often times a medication is really a unfortunate requirement. But then there are several that could ‘t be essential, and you may decide against using because of an unwanted side-effect.

Ask how, when with what the medication should be taken: With or without food? If it’s with food, what kind of food? If you give all meds through a feeding tube, and also you receive a tablet or capsule, are you able to crush it? Should it be taken at some point of day? A particular time before or after consuming? Many of these things are vitally important to know. For instance, one of Nick’s meds is fairly particular and contains to become combined with water and taken on an empty stomach, and that he can’t eat for an hour after. Another one he was previously on needed to be mixed in a little glass jar with water, using a metal utensil to stir it with.

Eventually you’re going to get into a routine of when and how to administer the drugs also it will not be this type of problem. Keep a small calendar with the meds and cross off each day as you go. If you give meds more often than once a day, obtain a calendar where one can check each day off one, two, three or how ever many times you need to. An even bigger calendar if you need to actually write the specific medication(s) down if that helps you to stay organized.

What goes on if you miss a dose, or not all of the med was taken/given for whatever reason?: It can happen! In the event you skip it? Take it? Double up the next dose? Both my husband and I have given Nick meds through the feeding tube while using medicine port coupled with the feeding port blow open while pushing the med through with a syringe. At that point, we had no idea which meds, and just how a lot of each med, actually managed to get into his stomach! We’d to call the doctor and get them how to proceed. Some meds we just skipped, others we gave to him again.

What happens if you take/give an excessive amount of accidentally?: This can happen, too. You get distracted and can’t remember should you already gave that med. It happened to me once, back when our oldest boy would be a teen but still lived in your own home. He would be a very difficult teen, and we were in a heated discussion as i was measuring out Nick’s meds and thought I may have given him one of the meds twice. Talk about panic! I known as the poison control center plus they said he’d be fine. However i never want to do that again!

How you can Store the Medication: Some meds need to stay inside a certain temperature. Generally you can either have them in the fridge or not within the fridge. There should be a little sticker somewhere around the medication if you are supposed to keep it in the fridge. And it is not recommended that you simply keep medications in the bathroom. Too many germs in there.

Make Sure YOU Can Read the Prescription Before You Leave the Doctor’s Office:

Many doctors have converted to computer generated prescriptions, but many have not. If you cannot read the prescription, chances are the pharmacists may have a hard time as well. Be a pain within the butt, ask a doctor to rewrite the prescription to ensure that it’s legible if you can’t see clearly. They should have respect for you that you care enough about making sure it is filled correctly and do as you ask without having to be upset about it.

When You’re Ready to Have the Prescription Filled

Use the Same Pharmacy For those Prescriptions: It is the pharmacist’s job to talk about All the medications a person is on, and ensure they won’t connect to each other. Help them do their job and steer clear of mistakes by sticking with only one pharmacy. This way they can see in their computer system a list of all of the medications for that person they’re filling prescriptions for. Don’t have one filled at CVS, and 2 filled at Walmart.

The pharmacist also needs to know: The pharmacy will also inquire about allergies, and if you are a new comer to the pharmacy, they’ll have to know what other medications (prescriptions, OTC, supplements, herbal) you are well on. It might appear redundant, but it is essential that they know this information, too. They’ll keep record of what you tell them in their computer system. Be sure to let them know contrary changes, too.

Ask the pharmacist questions: It’s a good idea to ask the pharmacist when and how to accept medication, about interactions with other food, drinks, OTC and prescription drugs, and about any side effects. Do this even though you have previously asked a doctor.

So why do I say this? Doctors have to know about medications, but it’s the Pharmacist that’s the real expert. To illustrate so what can happen whenever you don’t learn about possible side effects: Nick was prescribed Baclofen for muscle spasms he was having. I wasn’t along with my game at that time, and missed out until it had been too late that Baclofen can exasperate seizures. Now he’s on Keppra to prevent seizures. And despite my best efforts, with 2 yrs price of weaning, I have been not able to completely get him from the Baclofen.

When You Pick Up the Prescription

Now it’s time to compare exactly what the doctor said had been prescribed using what you’re being handed when you pick up the prescription. Here are some items to check:

Check the name of the patient on the bottle – make certain it’s for you personally! Yes, I’ve been given someone else’s medication. Correct name was on the label that was stapled to the bag, but someone else’s medication was in the bag.
The name of the medication – believe it or not, this really is one of the greatest mistakes. The names of medications can be quite similar. Make sure you get the correct one!
Brand Name vs Generic Name – If your doctor writes on the brand around the prescription, unless ‘no substitution’ is written, you’ll most likely obtain the generic version. It will say both generic and brand around the bottle. Search for them.
Volume of medication obtain – this is how much you will measure out.
Dosage – the total mg, that you will be giving. A bottle of medicine will say how many mg/ml, etc. is in the drug.
Storage – look for special instructions.
Shake or not to shake – look for special instructions. Also note: when the pharmacist must add water to some medication, they probably will not do this until you’re at the pharmacy prepared to get it. The reason being the medication’s expiration date is going to be affected by the date water is added. Take this into account an plan ahead of these prescriptions.
Measuring devices – get syringes when ever possible. And ensure you get a size that you can actually use! Quite often it’s not the pharmacist that will decide which syringes you get. You cannot accurately measure out 0.3 ml having a 10 ml syringe.

Browse the label for instructions on how to properly go ahead and take medication. Take a look against exactly what the doctor said.

Read all those other little stickers around the bottle: there might be some other special instructions that aren’t on the regular label, for example Be careful when driving or operating heavy equipment, etc..

Read the label around the bottle for correct dosage every time a prescription is refilled: Another catch I made wasn’t so much a mistake around the pharmacy end, but a change in the strength of med that nobody explained about after i refilled his prednisolone. He accustomed to get 3 cc’s once every other day. The effectiveness of the liquid was changed sooner or later (new supplier maybe), and that he now gets 5 cc’s once every other day. He’s still getting the same total mg., I just need to measure it out different now. But neither the doctor’s office or the pharmacy told me when the change was made. I simply happened to read the label on the bottle and notice. I had to call the doctor’s office and question them on it and complain that nobody told me, the one giving him the med. Who knows how long I could have been giving him the wrong dose if I hadn’t noticed the modification on the label. I’d been measuring it exactly the same for a long time…I do not may need to look at the labels anymore to understand how much he must get from the dozen meds he’s on. I truly lucked out when I noticed. Oh and, it had been a physician at Boston Children’s Hospital that refilled the prescription. So don’t let the fact that a prescription is filled with a doctor at one of the top hospitals in the country sway you from being just as careful when filling prescriptions.

This really is just the beginning, to obtain you’re body and mind ready to start exercising and eating right, and lastly getting the results you want. I wanted to begin this article by sharing a number of my story along with you, which means you know, you’re not alone; anybody women who’ve had children know it results in a dramatic change in the shape of your body. I know for myself after I had my first baby I felt like a stranger in my own body, and it got even worse with each pregnancy.

Before long I lost my weight and that i still felt like this can not be my body, all stretched out, stretchmarks, sagging skin this just wasn’t right. The change was overwhelming. I looked within the mirror and considered to myself who’s that…it cannot possibly be me, or could it?? Oh, it was!!

Although I didn’t such as these changes, I did get used to my new and not so improved body. I still looked OK in clothes however i felt bigger, older and less attractive. I guess you could say I gave directly into it…I had been an active busy Mom always running around with a hectic life; much like all of you … I figured I looked good enough, such as this is just the way it is. But it got harder to shop for clothes and trying to hide my problem areas (which for me will always be my legs and butt). And forget about dealing with swimsuits…HELP!!

Over the course of seven years I had three children, after my last child I eventually lost the load but my body felt worse than ever…Now I was also seven years older which didn’t help. So, I made a decision to make a change, I did not look great enough for me personally anymore. I began exercising more consistently and eating healthier. I made this essential during my life, without any excuses!

At first it wasn’t easy because I had been impatient, I needed results like yesterday, but after a few months I started to see results. I had been losing inches, body fat and getting toned muscles. After about 6 months I looked and felt a lot better, not only some days but constantly. It was liberating, my body really was changing. I started to feel like my old self again, actually better, I wasn’t tired constantly and I had a lot more energy.

I remember around this time I got an invitation to my childhood friends wedding at first I went into panic mode I said, “OH NO … what can i wear? I quickly realized it had not been an issue anymore. I wore an attractive black dress that actually showed my legs (my trouble spot remember). The good thing was I wore it with confidence no worrying about hiding anything. I just got dressed looked in the mirror and actually liked what I saw the very first time in so long and that maybe it was.

I started getting compliments and had other moms asking me for advice on how to shed weight and get fit. So, I decided to become fitness expert, typically training moms like you, that was 14 years back. The kids are actually 21, 19 and 14, wow how time flies.

All women undergo changes from childbirth, age, stress, hormonal changes, menopause and countless other things that bring about our never-ending struggle we now have with our bodies being what we would like them to look and seem like. We do not get it easy; but it is possible to stay young, healthy and stay in shape at all ages. The body undergo a lot throughout our way of life. But we have to be strong and deal with alter the best way we can… press weights(work with weights), do cardio workouts and eat healthy…also laugh and have fun!!

Before long if you do not do anything to reverse the change you start to feel sluggish, older, less in shape, over weight, and never as attractive as you did before you decide to were a mom/younger. Quite often you lose a sense of you, having lower self esteem and not as much confidence as you once had.

Locating the time to being active is often a problem for most moms. Whether you are a working mom or perhaps a stay at home mom, life with children is very hectic. Although, you wouldn’t trade motherhood for anything in the world, you need to take some time out on your own…

Your medical assistant resume is the very first thing that the potential employer will appear at closely. It must be well-written, precise and can include all the relevant information about you that an employer must know. It is very important that you make a good first impression together with your assistant medical resume, otherwise it might find themselves in the wastebasket.

Have a little bit of time to write, format and print your resume while using following tips. This can ensure that you can promote yourself properly and increase your chances of landing a job interview.

Medical Assistant Resume Structure

Personal Details – of course, the first thing on your medical administrator or assistant resume should be your complete name, address, contact numbers and email.

Skills – this is will have a listing of your administrative and clinical skills. This is the key to your resume which is why it goes next after your individual details. There are several variations of penning this a part of your medical administrator or assistant resume also it may be called profile, summary of qualifications, highlights of qualifications or it can just be titled “Certified Medical Assistant,” “Certified Podiatric Medical Assistant,” “Certified Ophthalmic Medical Assistant” etc.

The most effective way to write this section of the medical administrator or assistant resume is to create a two or three sentence paragraph that covers your qualifications after which list all of your relevant skills that you want to focus on in bullet form. Here is a good example:

Certified Medical Assistant

Experienced CMA proficient in medical office management with a strong clinical background in pediatric healthcare. Fluent in verbal and written Spanish. Skills include:

* Medical Office Management
* Patient Records Management
* Medical Billing
* Bookkeeping
* Taking Vitals
* Drawing Blood
* Giving Injections
* Preparing Patients for Examination
* Certified in CPR

Education – keep this part of your assistant medical resume simple. You should include your medical assisting certifications inside it as well as any medical assisting training you have had. For certifications, list the certificate name then the date and for educational history, the name of the institution then the dates.

Work History – for most people, except for new graduates, this is actually the part that employers will ask questions about the most. Work history ought to be listed in reverse chronological order. That’s, the newest experience shows up first. Detail your achievements and responsibilities for every position in bullet form. Put more information on the newest work experience of your medical administrator and assistant resume.

Chronological vs Functional Resumes

Most employers still like the traditional chronological resume. Ideally, this should be the type of medical assistant resume you create. The only real exception is that if you have had a lot of unrelated work experience. In that case, a practical medical assistant resume that lists relevant experience in skills clusters may be appropriate.

Nonetheless, remember that recruiters and HR personnel might be either not really acquainted with or even irritated by functional resumes for medical administrators and assistants. The assistant medical resume format described within the writing tips above is a combination resume that lists skills first after which work experience.

Assistant Medical Resume Tips

* Print your resume using black ink and plain white paper.
* Don’t get fancy with borders or graphics.
* A medical administrator and assistant resume cover letter should accompany your resume.
* Save your assistant medical resume in.doc file type if you’re attaching it to an email.
* Your resume should be three pages at most.
* Check carefully for any grammatical errors.
* Ask another person to appear over your resume for you personally, preferably someone in healthcare or recruitment, and request any advice they may have.

Your medical assistant resume is really a marketing tool and employers uses it to decide if they want to interview you for the job. In other words, the goal of your resume is to get an interview. So rather than writing just one resume, it is better to tailor each one for any specific assistant medical job. How do you do this? For example, when the job takes a large amount of administrative responsibilities, highlight your administrative skills and experience more than your clinical skills. That’s the most significant medical assistant resume writing tip of.

What percentage of you are dealing with cancer or know someone who is or someone who died due to this frightening illness? I bet, almost every among you answered “YES” to that particular question. Now, have of those you’ve known with cancer die while they remained as receiving their treatment? This is actually the hard fact: Everyday, more and more people get affected from this unforgiving illness we call, “Cancer!” What is a whole lot worse is that many of them end up dying. Not only in the cancer itself, but all the toxins and chemicals put into your body for the treatment of actual cancer. I am going to let you know all what the difference is between getting the classical conventional cancer treatment and receiving the more effective alternative cancer treatment.

When many people find out they’ve cancer, they do not usually sit and take some time contemplating on what their next step is or what their options are for treatment. Well, like most of them like myself, never even knew that there was other alternative cancer treatments even available. The majority of us are just acquainted with the traditional conventional treatments like surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. We probably all think that these remedies are our only answer and cure for treating cancer malignancy; so long as it had been still in the earlier stages and still treatable. I have actually heard about an alternate medicine for killing cancer where people drink Chinese Herbs as medicine, to get rid of the cancer cells. Personally, i never believed this process works or even be effective. I didn’t even know there have been other alternative methods getting used that is more efficient than the conventional, so far.

I know lots of people who died from cancer inside a year of discovering they even been with them. All of us seek medical help from the obvious professionals, hospitals, nurses, and doctors and believe they know what’s best and follow all their instructions. This is exactly why many people with cancer find themselves underneath the knife, getting high dosages of radiation, and complications and sickness in the many side effects you will get from the invasive conventional treatments. BIG MISTAKE! Nobody knows or can tell you what is perfect for your own body but yourself.

We are all familiar with the traditional conventional cancer treatment like chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. Maybe you have known any of those treatments to become relaxing, comfortable, or pleasant throughout the procedure? When you go with conventional treatment, not only do you feel pain, but you will feel sicker, weaker, and look Ten years older. Every patient I’ve seen immediately after they receive chemo or radiation, but look a lot more like walking zombies! These patients can barely even walk without falling or assistance, they have pale skin, as though there is no blood flowing inside them, eyes seem like they’re bulging out since they’re extremely thin, as well as experience hair loss. It’s absolutely heartbreaking to determine another human look the way they do. What is much more disgusting is that these doctors actual pat on their own the back for a job well done on keeping these patients alive and happy! Absolute GARBAGE! I’m certain all of you agree that if you’re like lots of people with cancer, you would rather die rather than feel and look that way or to give up the quality of life which we all deserve.

Now, let me tell you about a breakthrough cancer treatment that’s most advanced remarkable alternative cancer therapy on the planet called “Hyperthermia.” Hyperthermia (gentle concentrated heat) coupled with low–dose radiation is the most effective alternative cancer treatment available, and nearly pain free which will provide better comfort for cancer patients! You do not experience the hair loss, vomiting, nausea, fatigue, or even feel sicker and weaker than you were before the actual treatment. When I was little I would hear people say jokingly “If cancer doesn’t kill you compared to treatment definitely will!” I now realized it had not been a tale. I believed these were because how can any treatment be worse compared to illness. After hearing all of the different stories about what cancer patients go through with the grueling side effects, that phrase makes perfect sense!

Let us take a look at the newest talk of the Hollywood celebrity having cancer. In August, this Oscar Winning actor announced he had been diagnosed with Stage IV Esophageal Cancer (throat cancer.) He immediately followed his doctors’ orders and began 8 exhausting weeks of grueling high dosages of chemotherapy and radiation. I’ve seen photos of him on the web taken before he began his treatment and ones taken just recently while still in his treatment and I was shocked! Since he began his 8 grueling weeks of treatment, he looks ten times worse. Besides he seem like he’s aged Ten years, he looks pale and extremely thin, almost skeletal. I mean, in a couple of months, he looks as though someone sucked the bloody life from him. It’s like he doesn’t have strength or life residing in him. How saddening it’s to see among Hollywood’s all time greatest actor, be so weak and helpless and not able to even talk or take it easy with his beautiful family because of this life-threatening disease.

Now, I don’t know about the rest of you, however i sure as heck wouldn’t want my health to worsen from treatment when the whole point of receiving it’s so which i could be healthier. Had the actor known about Hyperthermia, and chose this noninvasive treatment instead, he would’ve still had his voice, maintained his appetite, as well as gain in strength. He’d not be getting the same backbreaking negative effects because he is currently experiencing now. I sincerely hope and pray his treatment ends successfully and wins his battle against cancer with out any permanent side effects.

Hyperthermia alone won’t rid your cancer alone but the high temperature is known to kill cancer cells directly and to make sure they are weaker to radiation. The low dose radiation catches any renegade cancer cells that may have dodged the heat bullets. This could work on a number of cancers. It’s been known to work very especially well with breast, prostate, neck and head, throat, and tongue cancers with no recurrence from the cancer cells. With Hyperthermia, your body isn’t poisoned with the many narcotic type drugs used to control pain which can become highly addictive. Believe it or not, this alternative treatment can actually help reduce your pain and even assist in improving your immune system.

The therapy process is painless and without causing any discomfort. Unlike the conventional, during the treatment you’ll feel relaxed, painless, and luxury. Once you lay down, a specialist will be and place heat applicators onto the tumor and then you simply take a nap. The heat is monitored by the technicians continually to ensure that each treatment receives the right amount of heat every time. It really is this straightforward. Hyperthermia is really probably the most advanced cancer therapy on the planet and most medical establishments won’t allow you to have it! It really pisses me off these doctors and medical specialists are all aware of this remarkable cure but never even bother to say it to the patients. Rather than having the patients choose their options, these selfish, money hungry doctors make the decision on their behalf and also have them get high dosages of chemotherapy, radiation, as well as worse, surgery to get rid of parts from their body.

Just how can anybody think that cutting, burning, and poisoning one’s body is the greatest choice when an alternative treatment “Hyperthermia” can be obtained? Luckily, right here in La, California is a pioneering doctor who is recognized internationally for creating a treatment technique powerful yet gentle that patients from all around the world come for his treatment. His treatment facility may be the only place offering Hyperthermia with low dose radiation as IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy) developed and implemented by himself. He’s devoted his career to enhance recent results for everyone who involves his clinic. He works night and day tirelessly on tweaking treatments and tracking outcome.

Basically, all I would like is perfect for those who have cancer or anyone you will know has cancer to inform them they don’t have to spend the rest of their time in discomfort, pain, and helpless from the all of the toxins put in your body when selecting conventional treatment. Let them know that there’s a lot more effective and painless alternative treatments readily available for them. Not only will Hyperthermia help you live a much better quality of life, do it yourself one tenth that of normal conventional treatment. So how could anyone turn made that first move? Or why would anyone turn down Hyperthermia, and judge to pay for more and feel worse for the conventional treatment?

I encourage everyone to impress look into every option that’s available. If your doctor tells you the only way to eliminate your cancer is with either surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation. It is best to get a second opinion, even a third opinion, so that you are certain of your decision. You may also go online to find more details regarding the kind of cancer and what treatment options can be found. I recommend everyone to complete research online even before seeing any specialists. Learn by pointing out type of cancer you have and which I suggest everyone to do. You’ll find a myriad of information for free all on the internet. Never come to a decision based on just one doctors’ opinion. There are so much that many doctors tend to hide in the patients. I feel like many doctors make medical decisions based on what they know only and believe it to become the best. What medical professionals ought to keep in your mind is the fact that there are scientist around the world spending so much time trying to develop new treatments for stopping cancer therefore the traditional conventional treatment may not continually be the best answer for each individual patient.
